Ashraf is a Transport Specialist with the Transport Global Practice of the World Bank in South Asia region. Ashraf brings expertise in the core areas of transport sector, having dedicated working experience in rural roads and markets, highways, waterways, mass transit and urban transport. His current focus is to contribute to enhancing resilience of transport infrastructure and communities and reduce the risk in the context of changing climate scenario. Ashraf is working with governments in South Asia to support project design, implementation, and evaluation. Before joining the World Bank in 2019, Ashraf worked for government and academia. He holds Master of Science in civil engineering degree from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET). He was awarded the Hubert H. Humphrey fellowship at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), USA during 2018-19.
