Blair Turner is a road safety expert with 25 years’ experience in the transport sector. He is currently a Senior Transport Specialist with the Global Road Safety Facility (GRSF) at the World Bank, based in Washington D.C. Prior to joining GRSF he held positions with the New Zealand Government (the Land Transport Safety Authority), the UK government (Home Office) and a private UK consultancy, and led road safety research and consultancy activity at the Australian Road Safety Research Board, most recently as Chief Scientist. Blair has been involved in a wide range of road safety projects, many with a focus on rural and urban speed management and safe road infrastructure. Much of this work relates to development of knowledge on effective road infrastructure interventions to improve safety outcomes.
