Boban Varghese Paul is a Senior Economist with the World Bank’s Social Protection and Jobs (SPJ) Global Practice and works on economic inclusion, livelihoods, social safety nets, and delivery systems. As an SPJ economist he has spent almost a decade providing operational and analytical support to the Governments of Angola, South Africa, Lesotho, Zambia, Malawi, and Rwanda on these areas. Before the World Bank, he worked in private sector management consulting in India and Singapore, and led the program management, and evaluation team of India’s largest education NGO operating in half of the 800 districts. He also worked in the Chief Economic Adviser’s office in the Government of India, and as a short-term consultant in the Ministry of Agriculture in Albania on agriculture value chains. Boban is a graduate of the John F Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University where he did a Master in Public Administration in International Development. He did an undergraduate degree in Economics at St. Stephen’s College, Delhi University.
