Bolormaa Amgaabazar is the Portfolio and Operations Manager for the World Bank in Indonesia and Timor-Leste. Ms. Amgaabazar oversees the Bank’s portfolio for both countries and supports the implementation of the Country Partnership Framework, as well as the policy dialogue with government counterparts and other partners.
Prior to this position, Ms. Amgaabazar was the Country Manager for the Kyrgyz Republic, where she led the policy dialogue with the government and oversaw the Bank’s program in the country.
Preceding that, in 2014, she was the Country Representative for Timor-Leste and was responsible for leading the Bank’s work in Timor-Leste.
Ms. Amgaabazar joined the World Bank in 2004 and worked in the East Asia and Pacific, Africa, and Easter Europe and Central Asia regions of the Bank. She started her career in the Bank as a task team member of the community-development project in Indonesia and was responsible for its implementation in the eastern parts of the country with a special focus on Papua and West Papua provinces. In 2008, she relocated to Washington, D.C., as the Country Officer for Indonesia. In 2011, she moved to the Africa Region of the Bank as Senior Operations Officer for Sudan and South Sudan, based in Nairobi.
Ms. Amgaabazar is a Mongolian national. In addition to her native language, she is fluent in Russian, English, and Bahasa Indonesia.
Ms. Amgaabazar holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the Maastricht School of Management in the Netherlands and a Bachelor’s degree in Trade Economics from the Lviv Institute of Trade and Economics in Ukraine.
