BooKang Seol is working as a research analyst on the World Development Report. He is exploring how the internet affects labor market—specifically, how it creates new opportunities and challenges for people in developing countries. In addition, he and his teammates are constructing a database that puts together available ICT-related information from surveys in more than 120 countries. Seol is also passionate about understanding the role of cities in the development context. He received his bachelor’s degree from Harvard in 2013, where he focused his studies on Economics and Mathematics. Before joining the Bank, he worked as research assistant to Professors Pol Antras and Ed Glaeser at Harvard for a year. He intends to pursue graduate studies in Economics in the future.
