Boris van Zanten is a Senior Consultant with the World Bank and is one of the core members of the nature-based solutions Community of Practice. In this role, he is leading the development of knowledge products that should help Bank teams mainstreaming nature-based solutions in operations. In addition, as a nature-based solutions expert, he provides technical support to operations for the Bank’s Urban, Disaster Risk Management, Resilience and Land and Environment Global Practices. Prior to joining the Bank, Boris worked as a researcher and consultant, often focusing on the economics of coastal and marine ecosystems. He holds an interdisciplinary PhD in environmental economics and geography from the VU University in Amsterdam.
