Bram Gootjes is an Economist in the World Bank Group’s Prospects Group. He joined the World Bank in 2023 after earning a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Groningen (2023). His research interests span a spectrum of subjects including fiscal policy, political economy, and economic growth. His contributions in these areas have been published in scholarly journals such as the Journal of International Money and Finance, Public Choice, the European Journal of Political Economy, and CESifo Economic Studies.
