Brian serves as digital media coordinator for the University of Tennessee’s Center for Sport, Peace, and Society. In this role, he creates and manages content for the center’s website and social media channels, as well as serves as the principal writer for feature stories, blog posts, newsletters, and contributions to other media partners. As part of his work with the center, Canever also manages media responsibilities for the U.S. Department of State Global Sports Mentoring Program. He has written sports and human interest features for ESPN, Ability Magazine, Peace Insight, and The Knoxville Mercury. Canever earned a master’s degree in communication and information from the University of Tennessee and has a bachelor’s degree in Latin American and Latino studies from William Paterson University.
