Bruce Rukundo, a Ugandan national, currently works with the Greater Kampala Metropolitan Area Urban Development Program as an Environmental Specialist. He has worked in the same capacity on various projects funded by multilateral agencies especially, the World Bank, African Development Bank, and JICA. Rukundo has worked with the World Bank as a Short-Term Consultant, and has accumulated over 15 years of experience in Environment and Natural Resources Management. He is a NEMA registered and certified team leader for environmental Impact Assessment and Environmental Audit teams. Rukundo has been at the forefront of integrating enhanced Environmental and Social Safeguards into the procurement process for large infrastructural projects and in complex urban environments. He holds a PhD from the Technical University of Munich in Germany, where he also earned an MSc in Land Management and Tenure, and attained a bachelor’s degree in environmental management at Makerere University in Uganda.
