Bryce Quillin is senior economist in the World Bank's Prospects Group, the Bank's unit for global forecasting and modeling housed in the data and research department (DEC). Previously, he was lead author of the World Bank's flagship economic monitor for East Asia and an economist in the Office of the Chief Economist for the Europe and Central Asia region. He was also a desk economist in the Middle East and Central Asia department of the International Monetary Fund. In addition to his work on development economics and policy, Quillin was chief economist at an investment management firm and at a financial consultancy. He holds a PhD from the London School of Economics and has published in the areas of macroeconomic growth and development, international finance and financial regulation, and labor markets and migration.
