Bushra is currently the Senior Health Specialist, at the HNP Global Practice at the World Bank. She leads the flagship Health and Gender Support Project in Cox’s Bazar, the Health Sector Program in Bangladesh, the Primary Health Care System Strengthening in Sri Lanka and is involved in the design of the Family Planning Program in Punjab, Pakistan.
A medical graduate with post-graduation in Virology and M. Phil in Preventive and Social Medicine, Bushra has more than 30 years of experience in the health sector. She has worked for the Govt of Bangladesh in various capacities, in various international organizations including the UN, UK-AID before joining the World Bank. She has co-authored the "Bangladesh Health System Review: Health Systems in Transition (HiT)", profiling the country's systems and policy initiatives for the Asia Pacific Observatory.
