Bushra Nishat joined the Environment, Natural Resources and Blue Economy Global Practice of the World Bank World Bank in 2020 as an Environmental Specialist. Her background in environmental sciences and mathematical modelling coupled with involvement in socio-political dialogues gives her a uniquely integrated understanding of the complexities in natural resources management in Bangladesh and the South Asia Region. Currently, she is coordinating and supporting projects to strengthen policy and preventive actions to tackle air and water pollution, and plastic waste mismanagement in Bangladesh and Bhutan.
