Carlos Monteverde is a Product Manager at Mastercard, focusing on identifying and building commercially-sustainable products tailored to convert cash related inflows and outflows to digital means, particularly in underserved markets. His team leads the company-wide effort to achieve the stated goal of reaching 500MM unbanked individuals by 2020, with 348MM individuals already included into the world’s formal economy to date. Prior to Mastercard, Carlos has worked at the World Economic Forum and EY. Carlos’ work has also been featured on the World Economic Forum, the Banker and Fortune. He studied International Finance from Espiritu Santo University in Ecuador and did his graduate work at the University of Sydney (including a fellowship at Columbia University).
