Carlos Ospino is a Colombian economist with over a decade of experience analyzing social issues in the domains of poverty, inequality, employment, and workforce development. Dr. Ospino holds a Ph.D. in economics from Universidad de los Andes and is a continuous learner of the Data Science field. He has published research in topics ranging from poverty, economic demography, firm productivity, and most recently about the use of Big Data for labor market intelligence systems. Apart from his analytical work, Dr. Ospino has provided technical assistance to government institutions in Latin America about the use of Machine Learning to build information tools for career guidance, workforce development, Graduate Follow-up and curricula relevance. He has also provided advice about the use and adaptation of international occupation and skills taxonomies to support local labor market information systems.
