Senior Economist

Carole Chartouni is a Senior Economist with the World Bank’s Social Protection and Jobs Global Practice. She has over 15 years of experience working on labor markets in the Middle East region. She authored reports and papers on topics related to jobs, women economic empowerment, skills development, migration, and informality. Currently, she leads the advisory services programs with governments in Saudi Arabia and the UAE and the jobs agenda in Jordan.  She holds a Ph.D. and M.A. in Economics from Georgetown University, and a B.A. in Economics from the American University of Beirut.
