Caroline is a Principal Program Coordinator, Energy and Climate, at the African Development Bank (AfDB) and is the Coordinator of the Mission 300 initiative at the AfDB.
. She is a seasoned energy professional with over 15 years of broad experience across Africa’s energy landscape. For the past seven years, she has worked at the African Development Bank in various roles encompassing project management, finance, portfolio management, work program coordination, and executive-level front office operations. Her technical and commercial expertise has made her a well-rounded professional who not only understands the technical design of projects but also the commercial, legal, political, and regulatory environments necessary for their success.
She is a Certified Energy Manager (CEM), accredited by the global Association of Energy Engineers, with specialized expertise in energy efficiency for electrical systems. Additionally, she is a Certified PPP Professional (CP3P), with knowledge and experience in the preparation and execution of public-private partnership (PPP) projects. Her main areas of technical expertise include Variable Renewable Energy (VRE) systems, Utility-Scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), Hydropower, and energy efficiency technologies.
Through her previous consulting work on projects supported by the World Bank, USAID, and GIZ, as well as her current role at the African Development Bank, Caroline has developed deep knowledge of multilateral development banks’ financial instruments, processes, and procedures.
Her work includes: collaborating closely with African governments and the private sector on business development, project design, project finance, capacity building, and policy dialogue; coordinating the AfDB's energy and climate change work program; monitoring results, managing cross-complex relationships, and preparing high-level reports.
