Operations Officer

Catalina Quintero is an Operations Officer working for the Fragility, Conflict, and Violence team of the World Bank, coordinating the conflict assessment work of the unit and working on integrating conflict sensitivity and transformation into the projects of the World Bank. Catalina has extensive experience living and working in Africa and co-leads a World Bank investment project on pastoralism and conflict transformation in the Sahel and Horn of Africa. She recently published a booklet entitled “Pastoralism Development in the Sahel: A Road to Stability?” Before joining the team she worked on the Colombian peace process on disarmament, demobilization and reintegration of ex-combatants (DDR) and on developing the new framework for the current negotiations with the FARC as an advisor to one of the lead negotiators. She also worked for the corporate law firm Arnold & Porter as a paralegal on international arbitration and international trade.  She enjoys salsa dancing caleno style, meditation, and making people smile.
