Catherine Anderson is a Senior Public Sector Governance Specialist who has worked in the East Asia and Africa Regions of the World Bank. Her particular expertise is in: political economy analysis; natural resources governance; public sector management and institutional governance; and in tackling issues of integrity, inequity and injustice in fragile and conflict affected contexts. Prior to rejoining the World Bank, Catherine worked with the Bureau for Crisis Prevention and Recovery, UNDP, New York on public administrative reform and local governance; the High Commission for Human Rights at the United Nations, in Timor-Leste on rights-based development; with several respected International Non-Governmental Organisations; and with the private sector on the politics of extractives. She was formerly also Legal Adviser to the Attorney General in New Zealand. Catherine holds a Masters in Law with distinction (LLM) from the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London, and graduated in both Law and Political Science from Victoria University, Wellington, New Zealand.
