Catherine Githae is a Program Manager at the Men Engage Kenya Network (MENKEN). Catherine’s work over the last 12 years has involved engaging men and boys in the promotion of gender equality, positive fatherhood, sexual and reproductive health and prevention of Gender Based Violence. She has a background in Commerce and has completed a Master’s Degree in Gender and Development Studies from the University of Nairobi. She has adapted several training tools on Gender Norms Transformation, GBV and HIV Prevention and Male Engagement that have contirbuted to the creation of a favourable social environement for women’s economic empowerment. Ms. Githae is a vocal gender equality advocate which has seen her participate in various legal reforms and policy development such as the Protection Act Domestic Violence Act (2015) and Rules of Procedure (2020) and Her Excellency the First Lady’s 2nd Strategic Framework (2018-2022).
