Cathrine Machingauta is a Data Scientist in the Development Indicators and Data Services (DECIS) Team of the World Bank’s Development Data Group. She specializes in data governance, standards, and best practices for data and metadata management, microdata curation, dissemination, and knowledge management. Her contributions include developing internal policies data acquisition, archiving and dissemination, guidelines for personal data privacy in survey data, and guidelines for statistical disclosure control.

Cathrine holds a Graduate Certificate in Project Monitoring and Evaluation from American University; an M.A. in International Development Studies from the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies, Tokyo, Japan; and a B.Sc. in Economics from the University of Zimbabwe. She is based in Washington DC, and she is a Zimbabwean national.
