Yao Kouadio Charles Kouame is a Statistician/Mathematician with the Development Data Group’s Economic and Debt Statistics team. His primary focus is on data collection, data mining, and data validation pertaining to national accounts. He supports the preparation and launch of the Bank's annual data collection and review exercise covering National Accounts data for Bank borrower countries. Charles also supports the Bank in the collection and the review exercise at the start of each fiscal year to determine countries’ per capita income. He oversees the Sub-Saharan Africa region during the surveys and estimates the linked series indicators which are used by the International Comparison Program.

Charles works with the United Nations Maternal Estimation Inter-Agency Group (UN MMEIG) on the review and the compilation of the estimates on the Trends in the Maternal Mortality Report.

Prior to joining the Bank in 2016, Charles worked with the IMF for 8 years. He holds an undergraduate degree in Mathematics, a graduate degree in both Mathematics and Statistics from Georgetown University.
