Visiting Scholar, GW Law School

Charles Taylor has been a visiting scholar at GW Law School in Washington DC since January 2017. In 2016, he was Executive Fellow at the Office of Financial Research in the U.S. Treasury. For the previous four years, he was Deputy Comptroller of the Currency for Capital and Regulatory Policy, representing the Comptroller on the Basel Committee and chairing the Committee’s Supervision and Implementation Group. Earlier, he was Executive Director of the Group of Thirty. After starting his career as an economist at the World Bank, he had stints in consulting, on Wall Street and as a director at the Risk Management Association. He has written and spoken widely on regulation, supervision, risk management and other issues of financial sector policy and practice. He has degrees from Cambridge, Oxford and Wharton in mathematics, economics and business respectively.
