Charlotte Kennedy is a consultant for the World Bank's Health, Nutrition and Population practice (HNP) and an editorial contributor for the Economist Group, where she provides economic and political risk forecasts for the Economist Intelligence Unit. Ms Kennedy is a former Australian diplomat. She has expertise in internal politics, conflict and fragility, political economy and human rights. She also has a specialisation in South Asia, including previous experience working in Pakistan (three years) and covering Afghanistan, Iraq, India, Bangladesh, the Pacific and the Central Asian States for the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. 
 
Ms Kennedy previously worked for former Australian Prime Minister, Kevin Rudd in 2007 providing advice on Australian foreign policy, aid policy and defense policy. She holds a Master of International Public Policy (MIPP) degree from Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies, a Master of International Affairs from the Australian National University and a Bachelor of Economics (Social Science) (Honors) from The University of Sydney. Her publications have appeared in Foreign Policy, Survival, the Lowy Institute for International Policy Blog (the Interpreter) and the Institute for International Strategic Studies.
