Chido Mpemba is the Youngest Diplomat in the African Union Chairperson’s Cabinet. She leads on youth affairs, fronting the voices of over 870 Million youth in the 55 Countries and Governments in Africa as the African Union Special Envoy on Youth. Chido is recognized as one of the ‘100 most Influential African Women’, and by CNN New York as one of ‘Top 100 Under 40 Most Influential People of African Descent’. As a public policy expert, Chido has worked with various institutions on social equity and policy advocacy on education, climate change and public health, whilst promoting the continental framework on Youth, Peace & Security in Africa and advocating for African Countries to ratify the AU Youth Charter. Chido is an alumni of the Emerging Security Sector Leaders (ESSL) Program from the Africa Center of Strategic Studies, National Defense University, U.S Department of Defense. She is a Global Leadership Council (GLC) Member of the Generation Unlimited, a Leadership Council Member for AFRICA Reach, a Climate Reality Leader and a Mandela Washington Fellow Alumni.
