Chifundo Chilera is a Social Development Specialist in the World Bank's Europe and Central Asia region. Chifundo engages broadly in social sustainability and inclusion, covering social risk management, operations and analytical support to project teams across GPs. On her current role, she leads ESF social due diligence throughout the project cycle for IPFs, DPOs, PforRs, FIs and selected RAS for the entire portfolio in Romania and until recently in Croatia. In addition to providing technical support to the SCD and CPF processes, Chifundo is co-leading the Country Gender Assessment for Romania where she is also the gender focal point. She co-leads an analytical piece on citizen engagement in the Just Transition in Serbia.
Chifundo joined the World Bank through the Young Professional Program and has previously worked in the Africa Region- Kenya, Tanzania, Malawi and Ethiopia. She was briefly based in the Addis Ababa country office through a short-term assignment.
