Christian Israel Aragon-Briceño is a PhD Researcher in Environmental Engineering and member of the Bioresource Technology Group at the University of Leeds. Aragon-Briceño works on issues related with waste management, waste water treatment and energy recovery from waste, focusing on topics related with anaerobic digestion, biogas production and nutrient recovery. Most of Aragon-Briceño current research is based on the application of thermal treatments to harness the properties of the sewage sludge for energy production. In addition, Aragón-Briceño is currently affiliated to de Anaerobic Digestion Network of United Kingdom.
Aragon-Briceño has more than 8 years of experience in topics related with Biogas and anaerobic digestion. Before joining to the PhD program, Aragon-Briceño worked as supervisor of waste water treatment systems in rural areas at one of the most important pig farming companies Mexico from 2013 to 2015. In 2015, Christian was awarded a scholarship from the National Technology and Research Council of Mexico (CONACYT) to undertake PhD studies at the University of Leeds.
