Christian Schoder is a Senior Economist in the Development Economics (DEC) Vice Presidency at the World Bank. His research centers on the macroeconomic implications of development policy, with a particular focus on climate action and structural transformation. His work seeks to translate frontier research into scalable, evidence-based analytics that inform actionable policy solutions. Currently, Christian leads the development of OMEGA — a large-scale DSGE model designed to support development policy analysis and to advance economic growth, structural change, and the transition to a green economy. Prior to joining the World Bank, he served as Assistant Professor in Economics at The New School for Social Research and the Vienna University of Economics and Business with a focus on macroeconomic dynamics and applied econometrics. His work has been published in leading economic journals including the Journal of Applied Econometrics and the Journal of International Money and Finance.
