Senior Environmental Specialist

Christine A. Kasedde is a Senior Environmental Specialist at the East Africa Environment Department of World Bank. She has over 22 years of professional work experience in Environmental management, multilateral environmental agreements, and project management. Prior to joining the World Bank in 2017, Christine worked for the government of Uganda at the National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) as a Senior Environmental Assessment Officer and National Focal Point for Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs).  Christine holds, a Master of Science degree in Environment and Natural Resources Management and Bachelor of Science degree in Forestry from Makerere University, Uganda; and other Post graduate diploma(s) in Strategic Environmental Assessments,  Environmental Impact Assessments, Strategic Management and Leadership. She is passionate about strengthening capacity for environment and social risks management and has led in partnership with academia, the development of short course training curricula for skills enhancement.  Christine always advocates for strengthening integration of environmental sustainability in public investment projects.
