Christoph Kurowski is Lead Health Specialist in the World Bank’s Department for Health, Nutrition, and Population. Serving for more than a decade as the World Bank's global lead for health financing, he played an instrumental role during the COVID-19 pandemic, leading key initiatives such as the Double Shock, Double Recovery series. He is a co-founder of the World Bank-USAID-GFF Annual Health Financing Forum, where he served as Technical Director for seven conferences.
Over his career, he has advised governments on health financing reforms across all income levels and regions. He currently leads the World Bank's Investing in Health program, focusing on pathways to achieve adequate and sustainable growth in government health spending to advance progress toward Universal Health Coverage.
