Christoph Ungerer is a World Bank Senior Economist currently leading key lending and advisory projects to support economic policy in the Western Balkans. He is country economist for the World Bank’s Albania program.
Previously, Christoph worked for the World Bank on fiscal reform in China and Ukraine as well as on financial inclusion in Madagascar and other African countries. Before joining the World Bank, he worked for the Federal Reserve Board on U.S. financial stability and for the European Commission on the Economic Adjustment Program for Greece.
Christoph was a Visiting Scholar at Harvard University. He holds a PhD in Economics from the LSE, and an MPhil in Economics from the University of Cambridge.
