Christopher Delgado is a part-time consultant with the World Bank’s Jobs Group. He was previously Senior Fellow at the World Resources Institute (2013-2018) and Agricultural Policy Adviser at the World Bank (2006-2013). At the Bank, he led the Secretariat of the Bank’s Global Food Crisis Response Program (GFRP) launched in 2008. He served as head of the coordination unit of the Global Agricultural Food Security Program (GAFSP), from start-up until late 2012. Chris spent 26 years at the International Food and Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) (1979-2006), jointly (2003-2006) as Markets Theme Director at the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) in Nairobi. He received a Ph.D. in Economics (1978) from Cornell University, is a former Peace Corps Volunteer (Chad), Assistant Research Scientist (University of Michigan), and adjunct faculty at Johns Hopkins SAIS and the University of Ouagadougou.
