Cindy Patricia Quijada Robles, a Disaster Risk Management Specialist, is part of the Brussels GFDRR team and works on GFDRR’s Social Resilience Program (including gender equality and women’s empowerment), the Small Island States Resilience Initiative (SISRI) and other GFDRR climate resilience and DRM-programs and initiatives.
Prior to joining GFDRR, Cindy worked as an Adviser for the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (Norad), providing quality assurance and managing grants to civil society organizations on climate mitigation and adaptation, environment, livelihoods, gender, human rights and civil society strengthening. Before this she worked in two Norwegian renewable energy companies that invest in emerging markets.
Cindy holds a Master’s in Political Science from the University of Oslo, including a semester at the University of Stellenbosch in South Africa where she specialized in political risk assessments and southern African politics. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Culture and Social Science – Political Science from the same university. She is fluent in Norwegian, English, Spanish and is currently working on her French.
