Claudia Berg has been working at the World Bank since 2013, currently in the Poverty Group. Previously, she was a researcher in the Sustainable Development Front Office of the Africa region and the Development Research Group. Her research interests have been on transportation policies, with a special interest on rural poverty and the geographic aspects of transportation infrastructure. In addition to the World Bank, she has worked at the Inter-American Development Bank and International Monetary Fund.
Prior to joining the World Bank, she worked at the George Washington University where she taught microeconomics and earned a PhD degree in Economics. Her dissertation focused on microfinance and its impact on the ultra-poor in Bangladesh.
