Claudio Raddatz was appointed Division Director of Financial Policy of the Central Bank of Chile in March 2014.
Mr. Raddatz is an Industrial Engineer and holds a Master’s Degree in Engineering from the University of Chile. He obtained his Ph.D. in Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in 2003.
He served as the Economic Research Manager of the Central Bank of Chile from August 2011 until assuming his current position. He previously worked as Research Economist (2003-2008) and Senior Economist (2008-2011) at the Macroeconomics and Growth group of the World Bank’s Research Department.
Mr. Raddatz is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Chile’s industrial Engineering Department and Associate Researcher in the Applied Economics Center of the same university. As researcher he has specialized on the interaction between macroeconomics, finance and development. He has published numerous academic papers in international journals and books and has presented his work in many domestic and international symposiums and seminars. He is also associate editor of the journal Economía, published by the Latin American and Caribbean Economic Association (Lacea), and of the Central Bank of Chile’s Revista de Economía Chilena.
