Cristina Pirela is an international development professional with over seven years of experience in impact evaluation, monitoring and evaluation (M&E), and using cost-effective evidence to enhance development outcomes in low- and middle-income countries. She is skilled in quantitative research methods, data analysis (R and STATA), cost-benefit analysis, and synthesizing evidence to inform project implementation.

Cristina holds a Master of International Development Policy from Georgetown University, where she focused on economics and research methods applied to development policy. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Government and International Relations/Global Studies from the University of Texas at Austin.

Cristina currently works as a Research Manager at Social Impact where she manages experimental and quasi-experimental studies in developing countries. Her career includes roles at the World Bank’s Gender Innovation Lab in Nigeria, the World Bank’s Agriculture & Food Security Global Practice, and the British Embassy in Washington, DC, where she worked on projects related to social protection, sustainability, and agriculture. Fluent in Spanish and English, Cristina is passionate about using evidence-based analysis to drive impactful development, particularly in sustainability and social protection."
