Cynthia Martínez joined the World Bank’s Governance Global Practice in 2025 to support knowledge management and convening initiatives for its GovTech Program. An internationalist with over twenty years of experience in foreign service, multilateral institutions, nonprofits, and a social impact startup, she was a member of the Mexican Foreign Service, serving in El Salvador, Washington, D.C., and Kenya in roles spanning technical cooperation, advocacy, press, and politics. She served as Chief of Staff at the U.S.–Mexico Foundation, promoting cross-border public diplomacy programs, and as Government Relations Director at Forte Global, focusing on workforce development and tech upskilling in Latin America. She also consulted for the World Bank’s Impact Evaluation Unit and the Inter-American Development Bank’s Social Sector on knowledge management and communications. Cynthia holds a Global MA in Law and Diplomacy from The Fletcher School at Tufts, a master's in digital Strategy from Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona, and a BA in International Relations from ITAM in Mexico.
