Daniel Björkegren is an Assistant Professor of Economics at Brown University. He explores the opportunities generated by new technologies in low income countries, using digital data. He has developed methods to evaluate creditworthiness based on mobile phone usage and to analyze policies in industries with network effects. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics and a Master’s in Public Policy from Harvard University and a Bachelor’s degree in Physics from the University of Washington.
