Daniel Halim is an Economist in the World Bank East Asia and Pacific Chief Economist Research Center in Kuala Lumpur. Daniel works at the intersection of development, labor, education, and gender economics, with experience leading impact evaluation projects. Prior to this, he worked with the World Bank Gender Group, Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Poverty and Equity Global Practice co-leading the Egypt Poverty Assessment, MENA Chief Economist Office, and East Asia & Pacific Gender Innovation Lab. Daniel holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a B.A. in Economics from the University of Toronto. He has published in peer-reviewed journals, such as Economic Journal, Economic Development and Cultural Change, AEA Papers & Proceedings, and World Bank Research Observer.
