Daniela Gomez-Altamirano is an international legal expert at the Trade, Investment & Competitiveness unit of the World Bank Group. She has more than 8 years of professional experience focusing on international economic law, international trade and investment issues. Currently, she provides expert legal advice to governments on how to facilitate trade and investment by improving their business environment through reforms. Prior to joining the World Bank, Daniela worked at the Permanent Mission of Mexico to the World Trade Organization, the Legal Service of the European Commission and as a visiting scholar at Georgetown University. She is also advisor to NAFTA disputes, professor at UNAM Law School, and editor of the Latin American Journal of International Trade Law. Daniela holds a master’s degree in International Economic Law from the University of Barcelona and is a PhD candidate in International Law at the University of Leiden.
