Daniela Klingebiel is a leading expert in asset management, central banking, and investment governance, with over two decades of experience at the World Bank. As former head of the World Bank's Reserve Advisory and Management Partnership (RAMP), she counseled central banks, pension funds, and sovereign wealth funds on asset allocation, risk management, and investment operations. She also advised on the suitability of emerging financial products, including crypto assets, for institutional portfolios.
Earlier, Daniela served as Principal Portfolio Manager for the World Bank’s then $30 billion pension plans, where she built and managed private credit and emerging market portfolios and co-managed the Bank’s hedge fund portfolio. She also led initiatives in currency and tactical asset allocation.
In her early years at the Bank, Daniela advised emerging market governments on responses to financial crises, banking reforms, and capital market development, helping drive key policy reforms. A widely published researcher on banking, financial crises, capital markets, and ESG investing, Daniela splits her time between Washington, D.C., and Aschau im Chiemgau, Germany.
