Danielle Bloom

Senior Health Financing Specialist at the World Bank

Danielle Bloom currently works as a Senior Health Financing Specialist at the World Bank, supporting the Joint Learning Network Health Financing Technical Initiative. She is also a Fellow at Results for Development (R4D). Danielle spent the last four years at R4D where she was most recently the Deputy Director for the African Collaborative for Health Financing Solutions project (ACS). At R4D, she also participated in the Joint Learning Network for UHC Provider Payment Mechanisms Initiative, supported provider payment work under the USAID Health Finance and Governance Project, and collaborated on a number of other efforts focused on improving alignment between public financial management and health financing systems, earmarking for health, and donor transitions. Danielle also co-chaired the internal working group at R4D on Sustainable Financing and helped to nurture cross-sectoral thinking at the institution. Prior to R4D, Danielle worked at Clinton Health Access Initiative as a global team manager for a multi-country program on health financing in SSA. She also has experience working in the field with Chemonics International, and has spent time at Center for Global Development, the Center for International Health at University of Toronto, and the Ministry of Health Promotion in her native Canada. She holds a degree in International Health Policy from the London School of Economics.
