Darian Naidoo

Darian Naidoo is an Economist in the Poverty and Equity team of the World Bank, focusing on Papua New Guinea (PNG) and the Pacific Island countries. As a leader of the Pacific Observatory High Frequency Phone Survey Work, he is dedicated to promoting the availability and use of socio-economic data to drive evidence-based policy in the Pacific region. He is particularly interested in conducting impact evaluations in challenging contexts, including for youth development projects in PNG and Tonga. He has also led the evaluation of community infrastructure and employment projects and poverty and equity analyses in the region. Darian’s journey with the World Bank began over ten years ago, while completing a PhD in Applied Economics at the University of Sydney.
