David is the Task Team Leader for the World Bank’s environment portfolio in the Republic of Congo. He is also engaged in analytical work on climate migration in West and East Africa and supports the West Africa Coastal Areas (WACA) Program.
Having worked on climate change and international development for more than 12 years, David has experience in the public and private sectors in Latin America, the Caribbean, Southern Africa, East Asia, and Europe. Before re-joining the World Bank, he was responsible for designing and implementing the climate change and disaster risk management activities of the Inter-American Development Bank’s Sustainable Cities Initiative. Previously, he worked on climate finance, Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Actions (NAMAs), and energy efficiency for the World Bank and a carbon project developer, and advised GTZ (now GIZ) on its global partnerships. During his graduate studies at the London School of Economics, he focused on leveraging development policy for effective climate action.
