David Satola is Chief Counsel of the Legal Advisory Services and Knowledge unit of the World Bank Legal Department. Prior to taking on his current role, with nearly 30 year’s experience in development in nearly 100 countries, David was Lead Counsel, Technology & Innovation at the World Bank where he led initiatives on combatting cybercrime and advancing human rights in Artificial Intelligence and represents the World Bank at functional working groups at the AIIB, ICANN, OECD, UNCITRAL, UNODC, and the UN’s Inter-Agency Working Group on AI.

David has a BA and an MA from Johns Hopkins University, a JD from the University of Wisconsin, and has also studied at the London School of Economics and the Hague Academy of International Law.
