David Sislen is the World Bank Division Director for Maldives, Nepal, and Sri Lanka

David Sislen is the World Bank Division Director for Maldives, Nepal, and Sri Lanka. A dual national of the United States and Italy, he has held a number of leadership roles in the World Bank, most recently as the Practice Manager for Urban, and Disaster Risk Management, and Land for Latin America. David holds degrees in Economics and Geography from Johns Hopkins University and Macalester College (USA) and has worked extensively on issues of infrastructure, urban development, and decentralized service delivery in Europe, Latin America, Africa, and East Asia and the Pacific. Prior to his role in Latin America and the Caribbean, David was the Practice Manager of the Urban and Disaster Risk Management team for Europe and Central Asia, and he has also held roles as the Sustainable Development Program Leader for both Southern Africa and Colombia.
