David Vilar is currently the Program Leader for Infrastructure in Central America and Dominican Republic. He provides strategic and operational support to the Transport, Energy and Digital teams and the World Bank (WB) country offices. David joined the WB in 2013 as energy specialist in the Africa Region where he has lead several energy operations and lead the sector dialogue in several countries. His last position in Africa region was Program Leader for Infrastructure in Ghana, Liberia and Sierra Leone. Before joining the WB, David was resident advisor at the ECOWAS Center for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency in West Africa and program manager at Engineers Without Borders in Mozambique and Peru.
David holds a MS Industrial Engineering and MS Materials Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (Spain) and Polytechnic Institute of Lorraine (France).
