Davit Babasyan is a Senior Financial Sector Specialist in the Europe and Central Asian Region of the World Bank, based in Tashkent office. He is a financial sector specialist with 15 years of experience in both private and public sectors, with deep expertise in prudential policy-making, supervision of banks and credit organizations, and risk management. He has joined the World Bank since June 2014 as a consultant, working in Kyrgyzstan and Ukraine on financial sector advisory projects. Prior to joining the World Bank in 2019 as staff member, he worked at the Central Bank of Armenia (2009-2019) in two main positions – financial policy development and financial sector supervision. Prior to that he worked as internal auditor in mortgage refinancing company, loan specialist in a commercial bank and a lecturer of finance in Armenian Financial Banking College. Davit holds MPA from the Columbia University (School of International and Public Affairs), and a Master’s degree in Economics from the Armenian State University of Economics. Davit is also a CFA® charterholder.
