Dewi Susanti is a Senior Research and Policy Consultant with the World Bank Indonesia. She was the Senior Social Development Specialist and Task Team Leader for the implementation and impact evaluation of KIAT Guru, a pilot project which combines social accountability – which empowers communities in remote villages to hold teachers accountable – with performance-based pay – which conditioned teacher allowance to results of community verification and evaluation. Previously, she was a Lead Research Specialist with the National Team for Acceleration of Poverty Reduction (TNP2K), a think tank under the Office of the Vice President of Indonesia. She holds a Master of Education from Harvard University and a Master of Architecture from the University of California at Berkeley.
