Diana Catalina Buitrago Orozco

Consultant on Gender-Based Violence for Latin America and the Caribbean region

Catalina Buitrago works as an international consultant on Gender-Based Violence for Latin America and the Caribbean region. She has over 15 years of experience in gender and development, GBV prevention and response, and migration. Catalina provides consultant advice to international development organizations such as the World Bank, the Interamerican Development Bank, UNHCR, UN Women, The United Nations Coordination Office for LAC, and universities such as the State University of New York (SUNY). Previously, she served as a GBV specialist in Un Women, GBV Information Management System National Coordinator in Colombia in UNHCR, Gender and Human Rights officer in UNFPA and civil servant in the Colombian government. She has experience working in several countries of the LAC region, including working with indigenous communities. Catalina earned a Master’s Degree in Development Practice (MDP), a post-graduate degree in International Cooperation and Development of Social Projects, and a Bachelor’s degree in Government and International Affairs.
