Diana Sanchez Castro is a Research Analyst in the Poverty and Equity Practice Group at the World Bank. She is currently working as a core member of the Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) Team for Statistical Development (“LAC Stats Team”), contributing to its analytical and operational program.
Prior to her current position, Diana worked as a Consultant in the Development Economics Data Group (DECDG) at the World Bank. During this time, she focused on enhancing the quality of household survey data, implementing effective curation techniques, and disseminating best practices in data management. In 2014, Diana joined the LAC region, where she dedicated her expertise to supporting Caribbean countries in addressing poverty and labor market challenges.
Before joining the World Bank, Diana gained experience at Nielsen Company, where she worked as a Senior Statistical Executive from 2012 to 2014, and at the Colombian National Statistics Office (DANE) from 2008 to 2012. During her time there, she provided technical assistance on the Consumer Price Index (CPI), contributing to accurately measuring inflation in her native Colombia. She is an economist from the Universidad de San Buenaventura and holds a Postgraduate in statistics from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia.
